Kim Jin-soo, the 12th president of the Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Corporation, has stepped down after completing his three-year term, which began in August 2023. Kim is a distribution expert who joined the Seoul Metropolitan Agricultural, Marine & Food Products Corporation in 1985 and spent some 30 years working in wholesale markets. During his tenure, he led improvements in the operation of the Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Wholesale Market, focusing on on-site communication, mutual growth and cooperation, and management innovation.

■ No. 1 Nationwide in Management Evaluation and Customer Satisfaction

The Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Corporation ranked first in the specific corporation and foundation basic group category of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's local public enterprise management evaluation for three consecutive years, from 2023 to 2025. It also received a grade of 'Ga' (excellent) in the evaluation of the CEO's fulfillment of management targets.

In the 2025 local public enterprise customer satisfaction survey, the corporation ranked first nationwide with a score of 94.71. It also earned first place in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' wholesale market evaluation in 2024, followed by an A grade in 2025.

■ ESG Management and Mutual Growth with the Local Community

The corporation also actively pursued ESG management and community coexistence initiatives. It was selected for three consecutive years as a 'Community Contribution Certified Institution' by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, receiving an S grade, and also won the Republic of Korea Agri-Food ESG Management Award, the K-ESG Management Innovation Award, and certifications as an excellent company for shared-growth management and as an excellent institution for fair hiring.

Community contribution activities included the 'Sharing 10,000 Kimchi Jars of Love' event, fruit support for local children's centers, programs for multicultural families and people with disabilities, and nutritional meal support for the elderly. The corporation also established a supply system for school meal ingredients, created local jobs, and ran economic and dietary education programs for children.

A total of 1.321 billion won in external funding was secured for Onnuri gift certificate redemptions, facility improvements for transportation-vulnerable groups, and youth job support, and invested in related projects.

At his retirement ceremony, Kim said, "I have spent my entire career at wholesale markets, including 33 years at the Seoul Metropolitan Agricultural, Marine & Food Products Corporation and three years as president of the Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Corporation, working alongside distributors and citizens." He added, "I am grateful to the employees, distributors, and citizens of Guri who together achieved the accomplishments of ranking first in the management evaluation for three consecutive years and first in customer satisfaction."

He also remarked, "I hope the Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Wholesale Market will continue to develop into a trusted food supply hub and a public market that grows together with the local community."
