The KOSDAQ index rose more than 1% in the regular session on the 7th, holding above the 820 level. According to the Korea Exchange, the KOSDAQ index finished the day at 822.19, up 8.69 points (1.07%) from the previous trading day. The stock price movements of the top 10 stocks by market capitalization were mixed.

■ Top-Cap Stocks End Mixed

Alteogen closed the regular session at 286,000 won, down 2,500 won (0.87%) from the previous trading day. EcoPro ended at 82,500 won, up 100 won (0.12%), and EcoPro BM closed up 700 won (0.66%) at 106,700 won.

Jusung Engineering showed a relatively sharp gain among the top-ranked stocks, closing at 187,200 won, up 8,900 won (4.99%) from the previous trading day. In contrast, Rainbow Robotics fell 11,000 won (2.40%) to 448,000 won. Robotis also closed at 301,500 won, down 3,000 won (0.99%) from the previous trading day.

■ Semiconductor-Related Stocks Mostly Strong

Semiconductor-related stocks were mostly strong. Wonik IPS finished trading at 117,600 won, up 2,800 won (2.44%), and Eotechnics closed up 13,000 won (2.93%) at 456,000 won. Rino Industrial also rose 1,800 won (2.70%) to 68,400 won, and Simmtech gained 1,900 won (1.61%) to 119,800 won.

As a result, seven of the KOSDAQ's top 10 stocks by market capitalization rose while three declined. Compared with the KOSPI's 4.61% surge on the same day, the KOSDAQ's index gain was relatively limited, but strength centered on semiconductor-related stocks allowed the market to finish above the 820 level.
