Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong has announced through a regulatory filing that he plans to purchase 7,188,793 common shares of Samsung Electronics from Hong Ra-hee, a special-related party, in an off-market transaction. The total transaction value amounts to 1,937,379,713,500 won.

According to the filing, the scheduled transaction date is October 12, and the method of transaction is an off-market purchase. The planned acquisition price per share is 269,500 won, calculated based on the closing price on September 8, the business day prior to the report submission date. The purpose of the transaction is stated as 'acquisition of shares from a special-related party,' with Hong Ra-hee as the seller.

The shares subject to the transaction account for 0.11% of Samsung Electronics' total issued shares of 6,648,649,811. At the time of submitting the transaction plan, Chairman Lee held 97,551,953 Samsung Electronics shares, an ownership stake of 1.47%. If the transaction is completed as planned, his holdings will increase to 104,747,746 shares, raising his ownership stake to 1.58%.

However, the number of shares and acquisition price stated in the filing are estimates. Under relevant law, transactions may deviate from the plan within a range of 70% to 130% of the planned transaction amount, meaning the actual transaction price and quantity may differ.
