Hanmi Semiconductor (042700) has been designated as an overheated short-selling stock, and short selling will be banned for one day on the 14th.

According to a regulatory filing, Hanmi Semiconductor was designated as an overheated short-selling stock under Article 17 of the Korea Exchange's Stock Market Business Regulations and Article 24-3 of the Enforcement Details of the same regulations, with the designation date being September 14, 2026.

On the designation date, short selling of Hanmi Semiconductor will be banned in both the regular market and after-hours market, and short selling will be allowed again from the day after the designation date. However, if the stock price falls by 5% or more on the day of the short-selling ban, the ban period will be extended.

Exceptions apply to some trades. Short selling is exceptionally permitted for liquidity-providing quotes and market-making quotes in the stock market, quotes for hedging trades aimed at providing liquidity for ELW, ETF, and ETN products, and quotes for hedging trades aimed at market-making in the derivatives market.

Meanwhile, Hanmi Semiconductor closed at 231,000 won in the KOSPI regular market on the 11th, down 22,000 won (8.70%) from the previous trading day. On NXT, the stock closed at 234,500 won as of 8 p.m. that day, down 18,500 won (7.31%).
