Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD is drawing attention as it targets the $13 trillion corporate treasury market, with some predicting that a major opportunity could open for the crypto market as the U.S. Senate votes on the CLARITY Act, a digital asset regulation bill, on September 15. ■ RLUSD Targets $13

Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD is drawing attention as it targets the $13 trillion corporate treasury market, with some predicting that a major opportunity could open for the crypto market as the U.S. Senate votes on the CLARITY Act, a digital asset regulation bill, on September 15.
■ RLUSD Targets $13 Trillion Corporate Treasury Market
According to crypto-focused media outlet CoinGape, Tony Edward, host of the crypto YouTube channel 'Thinking Crypto,' said in a recent video that Jack McDonald, Ripple's head of stablecoins, views the corporate treasury market that RLUSD could enter as being worth $13 trillion.
Edward said, "Jack is looking at a customer base that processes roughly $13 trillion in transactions each year," explaining that payments and capital markets are driving stablecoin growth.
CoinGape reported that these remarks came as Ripple expands RLUSD's presence in global markets. Edward also noted that Ripple is working with payment companies and banks, and cited Ripple's acquisition of GTreasury. According to CoinGape, this business expansion could increase RLUSD's potential role in institutional payments and capital markets.
■ XRP Ledger Expansion and Investment in Yield Products Also Growth Drivers
Edward believes continued development of the XRP Ledger is also tied to the growth of RLUSD, the stablecoin backed by Ripple. He said, "Clearpool Finance has proposed moving to the XRP Ledger." According to CoinGape, the migration is expected to be based on a new lending standard on the XRP Ledger for institutional credit products.
Edward also said Ripple has decided to invest in XRP and RLUSD yield products. He stated that he remains bullish on XRP and has been buying more when various crypto prices decline.
■ CLARITY Act Faces U.S. Senate Vote on the 15th... "Ethics Issues Are the Sticking Point"
As RLUSD gains attention, a major bill vote that the crypto industry is watching closely is scheduled in the United States. According to CoinGape, the U.S. Senate will vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15 (local time). Edward said discussions are continuing ahead of the vote and intensifying.
CoinGape reported that White House crypto czar Patrick Wit posted on X (formerly Twitter) a message to the effect that "it is not a good day to be pessimistic about the CLARITY Act." Billionaire investor Mike Novogratz also joined the discussion, stating, "CLARITY is not dead," and adding that talks were continuing through the weekend.
Edward identified ethics issues as the main point of contention. He believes the White House has an opportunity to forge a new ethics agreement ahead of the vote.
■ Armstrong: "Right at the Finish Line"... Bitcoin 'God Candle' Outlook
CoinGape reported that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong also views the bill's prospects positively. Edward noted that Armstrong recently described the CLARITY Act as being "right at the finish line." According to CoinGape, the bill could lay the foundation for a broader regulatory framework for the U.S. crypto industry.
Edward predicted that the bill's passage could also improve market sentiment. In particular, he forecast that Bitcoin could rally significantly if the bill passes. He anticipated, "We will see a 'God candle' on the Bitcoin chart." He added that altcoins could also see opportunities.
CoinGape assessed that the $13 trillion potential market RLUSD is targeting demonstrates institutional interest in tokenized finance. It also noted that while the XRP Ledger continues to expand, confidence in XRP is growing despite regulatory concerns.
