Looking at domestic gold prices by dealer, pure gold (3.75g) at the Korea Gold Exchange was priced at 860,000 won for purchase and 718,000 won for sale. Pure gold (3.75g) at Geumsise.com was quoted at 854,000 won for purchase and 730,000 won for sale.

Market attention is focused on the direction of the U.S. August personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, scheduled for release on the 30th (Korea time). With U.S. interest rates having recently risen by 0.25 percentage points, all eyes are on the future direction of rates. It appears that the PCE, along with other upcoming price index releases, should be examined together.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump recently stated on his Truth Social account that "U.S. (benchmark) interest rates should be at 1% or lower."
