On September 22, 2026, domestic gold prices in South Korea closed lower across all categories.

According to Gold Price.com, 3.75g of pure gold sold at 715,000 won, down 10,000 won from the previous day, while the buying price was 830,000 won, a drop of 19,000 won.

Gold products other than pure gold also weakened. 18K gold sold at 528,000 won, down 7,000 won from the previous day, while 14K gold sold at 410,000 won, down 6,000 won.

Platinum and silver followed suit. Platinum recorded a selling price of 279,000 won (down 7,000 won from the previous day) and a buying price of 334,000 won (down 9,000 won). Silver fell to 10,750 won for selling, down 300 won, and 11,850 won for buying, down 200 won.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Federal Reserve projected that the real U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate would reach 2.3% this year and 2.4% next year. These figures are each 0.1 percentage points higher than the forecasts made in June, suggesting that growth is more robust than previously expected.

Going forward, various global indicators, including the U.S. economy and interest rate movements, are expected to be key variables determining the direction of gold prices.
