Wavve has exclusively released the film 'Bigwang' on its OTT platform starting at 11 a.m. on the 23rd. Starring Ryu Seung-ryong, Ha Ji-won, and Kim Si-ah, the work centers on complex emotions and solidarity within a family.

'Bigwang' unfolds its story around three central characters: Jung-gu (Ryu Seung-ryong), Nam-mi (Ha Ji-won), and Dong-joo (Kim Si-ah). Jung-gu was once a star player representing Korean baseball, but after his downfall, he tries to rise again to protect his daughter Dong-joo. Nam-mi, having moved past her top-star days, transforms into a celebrity working to make a living, showing dramatic change. Dong-joo is named the prime suspect in an incident related to a friend's death, leaving her on the edge. The intertwined relationships of these three characters form the heart of the story.

Director Lee Ji-won, who won the Best New Director award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for 'Miss Baek,' explores solidarity and sacrifice within a family in crisis through this new work. Kim Hae-sook plays Gi-sik, Jung-gu's mother, who protects her granddaughter Dong-joo, while Kim Sun-young plays Ji-sook, Jung-gu's older sister, portraying a character who puts family first. Kim Young-min appears as Sung-myung, Ji-sook's husband, who traces clues to the incident alongside the family.

The title 'Bigwang' comes from the hwatu card game, conveying the message that one is incomplete alone but fulfills its purpose when together with others. The film depicts a deeply moving family chronicle that can be enjoyed with family over the Chuseok holiday.

Director Lee Ji-won, reuniting with Kim Si-ah from 'Miss Baek' and Ha Ji-won from the drama 'Climax,' said, "Bigwang tells the story of a family who hold on to each other in moments of crisis as they strive to carry on living."
