KBS has taken the ratings lead in broadcasting the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games by utilizing two channels.

【Women's Gymnastics Team Event Records Peak Rating of 7.2%】

In the women's artistic gymnastics team final held on the 23rd, the competitions featuring Im Su-min, Shin Sol-i, Yeo Seo-jeong, and Lee Yun-seo swept the top four spots in viewership in Korea. Among them, the competition featuring Yeo Seo-jeong recorded 7.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 6.8% nationwide from 8:57 p.m. to 8:59 p.m., marking the highest rating of the entire Games. The competitions featuring Im Su-min and Shin Sol-i recorded 5.0%, Yeo Seo-jeong's event 4.4%, and Lee Yun-seo's event 3.9%. The South Korean women's artistic gymnastics team ultimately finished in fourth place.

Notably, on KBS 1TV, commentator Yeo Hong-cheol broadcast his daughter Yeo Seo-jeong's team event live, drawing attention.

【Oh Sang-wook's Second Consecutive Fencing Title, Korea-Japan Badminton Match, and Chu Ga-eun's Gold Medal Broadcast Also Draw Attention】

Broadcasts of various events including fencing, badminton, and shooting also drew viewers' interest. In the men's sabre individual event, Oh Sang-wook achieved his second consecutive title despite an injury, and the broadcast, with commentary by Kim Jun-ho, ranked first among fencing broadcasts with a nationwide rating of 2.2%. The women's team badminton semifinal between Korea and Japan was also broadcast on KBS 1TV, recording first place among badminton broadcasts with a nationwide rating of 2.3%.

In shooting, Chu Ga-eun won a gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol final, setting a new Asian record. The event was broadcast live exclusively on terrestrial TV through KBS 1TV with commentator Lee Dae-myung, recording a nationwide rating of 2.7%.
