The men's football quarterfinal between South Korea and Vietnam, broadcast on KBS 2TV, recorded a nationwide rating of 6.3% (Nielsen Korea), outpacing MBC (5.3%) and SBS (2.3%), which aired the same match. This was the highest figure among KBS's Asian Games broadcasts. The momentary peak rating climbed to 7.8%, and KBS 2TV also ranked first in the metropolitan area with 5.5%.

The match itself was flawless. Under coach Lee Min-sung, South Korea routed Vietnam 4-0 to advance to the semifinals. Commentator Lee Young-pyo said, "It was the best match of this tournament.
