Nuclear power-related stocks are trading broadly lower in the morning session on the Korean market on the 29th. Major stocks are falling 2-5%, showing somewhat dampened investor sentiment across the nuclear power theme overall.

■ Leading Stocks Fall Over 3% Together

Doosan Enerbility is down 2,500 won (3.05%) from the previous trading day at 79,500 won. It opened at 81,000 won and rose to as high as 81,300 won during the session before turning lower. Trading volume has exceeded 1.79 million shares.

KEPCO E&C is down 3.72% at 121,500 won, with an intraday high of 125,900 won and a low of 121,100 won.

Woori Technology is also down 3.30% at 12,290 won. It rose to as high as 12,520 won intraday but failed to sustain the upward momentum and is currently trading below its opening price.

■ Other Nuclear Power-Related Stocks

Orbitech is down 5.70% at 5,130 won, showing a relatively steep decline. BHI is also down 4.46% at 57,800 won.

KEPCO Industrial Development is down 2.74% at 12,070 won, Iljin Power 2.94% at 11,540 won, and Woojin Entec 2.94% at 13,530 won. G2 Power is down 3.02% at 9,640 won, while Geumyang Green Power is down 3.57% at 7,300 won. KEPCO KPS is down 2.59% at 45,200 won, and Woojin is down 2.28% at 13,260 won.

■ Construction Stocks Weak... Daewoo Engineering & Construction Falls 6.91%

Nuclear power-related construction stocks are also weak. Hyundai Engineering & Construction is down 5.62% at 117,600 won, while Daewoo Engineering & Construction is down 6.91% at 17,390 won, an even steeper decline. GS Engineering & Construction is down 4.92% at 33,800 won, and DL E&C is down 4.88% at 78,000 won.

■ Equipment and Parts Stocks Also Decline

Related equipment and parts stocks are also mostly struggling. Sungkwang Bend is down 2.89%, Hyo-lok Korea 3.55%, DK-Lok 4.36%, Energistics 3.46%, and Boseong Powertech 2.34%.

■ Keumhaa PSC and Hyosung Heavy Industries Rise

Meanwhile, some stocks are maintaining gains. Keumhaa PSC is up 0.74% at 34,150 won, Hyosung Heavy Industries up 1.73% at 2,828,000 won, and Hanyang ENG up 0.63% at 31,850 won. LS ELECTRIC and Daechang Steel are trading flat.

■ Differentiation Within the Theme

Looking only at intraday movements, rather than the entire nuclear power theme moving in the same direction, selling pressure is dominant centered on major large-cap stocks and construction and equipment-related names. In particular, leading stocks such as Doosan Enerbility, KEPCO E&C, and Woori Technology are weakening simultaneously, slowing the upward momentum of the theme overall. However, some power equipment stocks and individual names are showing relatively steady movement, indicating differentiation within nuclear power-related stocks.

■ Variables to Watch for Short-Term Trends

As intraday stock prices can change quickly, it is difficult to determine the direction of the entire nuclear power industry based solely on price movements at a particular point in time. Whether major stocks recover their losses, changes in trading volume, new orders, and schedules related to overseas nuclear power and SMRs are cited as variables that will determine the short-term trend.
