Hanmi Semiconductor is continuing its upward trend for a second day following its sharp jump the previous day.

As of the morning of the 30th, Hanmi Semiconductor is trading at 253,500 won, up 1,500 won, or about 0.60%, from the previous day's close of 252,000 won.

Previously, on the 29th, Hanmi Semiconductor opened at 235,000 won and extended its intraday gains to close at 252,000 won, up 17,500 won, or 7.46%, from the prior trading day.

Difficult to See as 'Nine Consecutive Trading Days of Gains'

However, the recent trend is hard to characterize as 'nine consecutive trading days of gains.' Hanmi Semiconductor fell from 243,000 won on September 23 to 233,000 won on the 28th, then rebounded sharply to 252,000 won on the 29th. Therefore, it is more accurate to view the stock as being in a two-day winning streak following the decline on the 28th.

Expansion of HBM and AI Semiconductor Investment Is Key

Behind the recent stock price movement, expectations for semiconductor equipment demand driven by expanding investment in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors continue to draw market attention.

However, as the stock's short-term gains have grown large, it is necessary to also monitor changes in trading volume and supply-demand conditions, as well as earnings performance and new order trends.
