■ Gold Price Outlook... Focus on U.S. Economic Indicators and Dollar Movements

To gauge the future direction of gold prices, it is necessary to keep an eye on major U.S. economic indicators, including employment data, as well as dollar movements. Looking at key August price indicators, CPI rose 3.4% year-on-year, PPI rose 5.4%, and PCE rose 3.4%.

Employment market and inflation-related indicators could influence expectations for U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) monetary policy, and as such may act as factors increasing volatility in gold prices.

In particular, since gold is traded in dollars, fluctuations in the dollar's value are also cited as a key variable. A stronger dollar could weigh on gold prices, while a weaker dollar could support them. Accordingly, market attention is expected to focus on upcoming U.S. economic indicators and the resulting movements in the dollar and U.S. Treasury yields.
