On the 7th, the KOSDAQ index finished the regular session at 898.43, down 21.49 points (-2.34%) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ, which had risen to 919.92 the day before, slipped back below the 900 mark within a day.
The index opened at 917.45 and rose to as high as 921.73 intraday before turning downward. The intraday low was 898.25, with the index closing the regular session near its low.
■ All Top 10 Market Cap Stocks Decline... Jusung Engineering Falls 9.34%, the Largest Drop
All of the top 10 stocks by market capitalization closed weaker.
Alteogen closed at 254,500 won, down 5,500 won (-2.12%) from the previous day, while EcoPro finished at 91,700 won, down 3,700 won (-3.88%). EcoPro BM also ended the session at 125,100 won, down 3,800 won (-2.95%).
In particular, Jusung Engineering closed at 252,500 won after plunging 26,000 won (-9.34%), recording the largest decline among the top market cap stocks. Having posted a double-digit surge the previous day, the stock showed a wide swing in price.
Rainbow Robotics finished at 448,000 won, down 18,000 won (-3.86%), and Simmtech closed at 170,900 won, down 4,100 won (-2.34%). L&F also fell 800 won (-0.92%) to 86,100 won.
Wonik IPS posted a large decline, closing at 132,800 won, down 8,500 won (-6.02%), while Rorze Systems finished at 520,000 won, down 24,000 won (-4.41%). HLB also ended the regular session at 45,850 won, down 1,550 won (-3.27%).
■ Foreigners and Institutions Net Sellers... Retail Investors Net Buy Over 500 Billion Won
On the supply and demand side, selling by foreigners and institutions weighed on the index. In the KOSDAQ market that day, foreigners and institutions net sold in the 260 billion won range and 210 billion won range, respectively, while retail investors net bought more than 500 billion won.
