The domestic stock market will be closed for one day on the 9th. As the date is Hangeul Day, a statutory public holiday, the Korea Exchange will not hold regular stock trading on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets. Accordingly, investors will be unable to trade on the domestic stock market on the 9th.

The domestic stock market was also closed on the 5th for the substitute holiday for National Foundation Day. This was because National Foundation Day, October 3, fell on a Saturday this year, making Monday the 5th a designated substitute holiday. As a result, the domestic stock market has had holiday-related closures in both the first and second weeks of October.

With Friday the 9th closed this week, Thursday the 8th was the last trading day. Trading is scheduled to resume normally on Monday the 12th, after the weekend, with both KOSPI and KOSDAQ starting regular session trading on their usual schedules.

Meanwhile, major overseas financial markets will operate separately according to each country's holiday schedules while the domestic market is closed. Accordingly, domestic investors are expected to keep a close eye on U.S. stock markets and international financial market movements during the closure. In particular, when the domestic market reopens on the 12th, attention is focused on how overseas market trends and key economic variables formed during the closure will affect stock prices.
