Elice Group's IPO subscription has been completed through its second day of schedule. The subscription closed at 4 p.m. on the 8th and was conducted through two brokerages: Mirae Asset Securities and Samsung Securities.
With investor interest continuing through the final day of the subscription, attention focused on the estimated number of shares for equal allocation and the competition rate for proportional allocation at each brokerage.
■ Equal Allocation: Which Brokerage Was More Favorable?
Based on the final tally, Mirae Asset Securities recorded 229,879 subscription applications, with the estimated number of shares allocated per investor who applied for the minimum quantity at 0.97 shares. Samsung Securities recorded 59,539 subscription applications and an estimated equal allocation of 0.93 shares.
Equal allocation is a method in which the allotted volume is divided according to the number of accounts participating in the subscription. Therefore, even if investors applied for the same minimum quantity, the actual allocation results could differ depending on the brokerage they used.
■ Samsung Securities Had Lower Proportional Allocation Competition Rate
Differences between brokerages also appeared in the proportional allocation competition rates. Mirae Asset Securities recorded a proportional competition rate of 817.52:1, while Samsung Securities recorded 811.55:1. Since proportional allocation distributes shares according to the size of subscription deposits, the brokerage with the lower competition rate can be considered relatively more favorable.
■ Offer Price Fixed at 90,500 Won... Post-Listing Stock Performance in Focus
Meanwhile, Elice Group recorded a competition rate of 388.84:1 in the demand forecast previously conducted for institutional investors, and the offer price was fixed at 90,500 won, the upper end of the hoped-for price range.
With the general investor subscription now complete, attention is turning to the actual allocation results and the stock's performance after listing. In particular, the level at which trading forms on the first day of listing relative to the offer price will be a key point of interest.
