Actor Son Hyun-joo made his first appearance as hospital director Boo Seung-kwon of Guseo University in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor X,' leaving a powerful impact with his cold yet duplicitous charm.

In episodes 1 and 2 of 'Doctor X,' aired on the 9th and 10th, Boo Seung-kwon, played by Son Hyun-joo, expressed discomfort at a gathering of medical power brokers who prioritized profit and power over patients. After taking over the hospital director position following Director Kim Myung-sub's surgical accident, he demonstrated cool-headed and meticulous judgment.

■ "A tail that can be cut off anyway"... Recruiting Se Soo-jung and cold calculation

Boo Seung-kwon recruited Se Soo-jung (played by Kim Ji-won), a surgeon with outstanding skills, to the hospital, but showed an attitude of anticipating and preparing for the fallout. In particular, in a scene where he referred to Se Soo-jung as "a tail that can be cut off anyway," he revealed a coldness different from before.

He was also seen controlling the situation by instructing that Se Soo-jung's involvement in the surgery be kept hidden.

When Do Yoon-sik (played by Kim Young-min) tried to give up on the surgery, he rebuked him, saying, "You already left that operating room back then."

Son Hyun-joo conveyed the weight of Boo Seung-kwon through restrained expressions, a low voice, and piercing eyes. He convincingly portrayed a character who, despite his gentle and rational appearance, makes cold decisions at critical moments.

The relationship between Boo Seung-kwon and Se Soo-jung also drew attention. While Boo Seung-kwon acknowledges Se Soo-jung's abilities but never lets his guard down, a scene was introduced in which Se Soo-jung confronts him, saying, "It seems like you've already failed, Director."

Son Hyun-joo portrayed the morally ambiguous Boo Seung-kwon in a three-dimensional way, demonstrating a strong presence from the very first broadcast.
