International gold prices have recovered to the $4,200-per-ounce level. As of October 10, Korean time, the international gold price on the New York Mercantile Exchange stood at $4,216.30 per ounce, up $59.30 (1.43%) from the previous day. Gold prices have recently been fluctuating between the $4,100 and $4,200 levels per ounce. On the same day, domestic gold prices showed that at the Korea Gold Exchange, the price of pure gold (3.75g) was 795,000 won when buying and 682,000 won when selling, while at GoldPrice.com it was 789,000 won when buying and 690,000 won when selling. Meanwhile, attention is also focused on the upcoming U.S. economic indicators. The September Consumer Price Index (CPI) is scheduled for release on the 14th, Korean time, followed by the Producer Price Index (PPI) on the 15th. How these indicators will affect the direction of U.S. interest rates remains to be seen.
