As the 2026 October National Joint Academic Evaluation (October mock exam) was administered on the 20th, the grade cutoffs for the Korean and Math sections for high school seniors have been released on the EBSi website, drawing keen attention from test-takers.

■ Korean... Grade 1 raw score is 94 points for Speech and Writing, 91 for Language and Media

According to the data released on EBSi, the Grade 1 raw scores in Korean are 94 points for Speech and Writing and 91 points for Language and Media. Grade 2 is 86 points for Speech and Writing and 84 points for Language and Media, while Grade 3 is 77 points and 75 points, respectively.

The standard scores are 130 points for Grade 1, 124 for Grade 2, and 117 for Grade 3, with percentiles of 96, 89, and 77, respectively.

■ Math... Raw scores vary by elective subject

In Math, the grade cutoffs differ by elective subject. The Grade 1 raw scores are 89 points for Probability and Statistics, 84 for Calculus, and 85 for Geometry. Grade 2 is 84 points for Probability and Statistics, 79 for Calculus, and 80 for Geometry, while Grade 3 is 76 points for Probability and Statistics, 71 for Calculus, and 72 for Geometry.

The grade cutoffs based on standard scores are 130 points for Grade 1, 126 for Grade 2, and 120 for Grade 3, with corresponding percentiles of 95, 89, and 77, respectively.

■ Mean and standard deviation

The mean score for Korean Speech and Writing was 53.36 points with a standard deviation of 23.74. For Math Probability and Statistics, the mean was 40.51 points with a standard deviation of 23.34.

■ Caution against simple comparison of raw scores... Standard scores and percentiles should be checked together

This October National Joint Academic Evaluation was administered by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. As the exam allows high school seniors, ahead of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), to assess their standing, interest in the grade cutoffs is expected to continue.

However, since raw score standards vary by elective subject, it is necessary to review standard scores and percentiles together rather than making simple score comparisons. Moreover, the currently released grade cutoffs may change as additional data is reflected later, and should therefore be distinguished from the final results.

Meanwhile, below are the grade cutoffs for the Korean and Math sections posted on the EBSi website.
