SK Preferred Shares (03473K) are drawing market attention as they surge in the afternoon session on the 21st. With the stock posting a double-digit gain, the Korea Exchange (KRX) has successively triggered its Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism.
As of 12:42 p.m. on the 21st, SK Preferred Shares are trading at 340,000 won, up 31,000 won (+10.03%) from the previous trading day.
The sharp intraday rally triggered the static VI twice on the KRX. The first VI was triggered at 12:37:18 p.m. and lifted at 12:39:38 p.m. A second static VI was then triggered at 12:40:39 p.m. and lifted at 12:42:54 p.m.
With VIs triggered in succession within a short period, intraday price volatility has clearly expanded. In particular, with SK Preferred Shares climbing to the 340,000-won level, whether the upward momentum will continue in the afternoon session is seen as a key point to watch.
