Pure Gold, 18K, and 14K Rise Together... Platinum Falls
On October 27, 2026, domestic gold prices in South Korea recorded gains, led by pure gold, 18K, and 14K. In contrast, platinum prices fell, while silver held steady at selling prices, with buying prices slipping slightly.
According to domestic gold price data from GoldPrice.com (Geumsise.com), pure gold per don (3.75g) was quoted at 652,000 won for selling and 745,000 won for buying. Compared to the previous day, the selling price rose by 2,000 won and the buying price by 1,000 won.

Platinum Falls, Silver Steady
Platinum showed a downward trend. Platinum per 3.75g was quoted at 233,000 won for selling and 280,000 won for buying, down 4,000 won and 5,000 won respectively from the previous day.

This Week's Watch Points: FOMC, PCE, and GDP
Market attention is focused on major U.S. economic indicator releases and monetary policy schedule this week. Factors that could influence the direction of international gold prices include the U.S. September personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, the advance estimate of third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) growth, and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting results.
In particular, what signals the Federal Reserve (Fed) delivers regarding monetary policy is a key point of interest. The PCE price index is a gauge of U.S. inflation trends, while the GDP growth rate offers insight into the momentum of the U.S. economy, drawing significant attention.
Gold is an asset that reacts sensitively to U.S. interest rate expectations and changes in the value of the U.S. dollar. If the direction of interest rates shifts depending on major economic indicators and the FOMC outcome, volatility in international gold prices could expand.
