Hyundai Motor Company has decided to dispose of approximately 271.5 billion won worth of treasury shares in order to grant stock to employees in accordance with the results of the 2026 wage negotiations. Hyundai Motor announced the decision on treasury share disposal in a regulatory filing on the 29th.

The shares to be disposed of total 917,385 common shares, consisting of 360,345 bonus shares and 557,040 employee stock ownership plan shares. A total of 61,159 employees will receive the shares, with the disposal scheduled for November 20.

The price of the shares to be disposed of was set at 296,000 won per share, calculated based on the closing price on October 28, the day before the board resolution date. The total disposal amount is expected to be 271.54596 billion won. However, the number of shares and the amount may change depending on the number of eligible employees on the actual disposal date and stock price fluctuations.

This treasury share disposal follows the treasury stock holding and disposal plan approved at the 58th regular general shareholders' meeting held on March 26. The disposal will be carried out by depositing the shares into each employee's individual securities account. If an employee chooses, the shares may also be disposed of through a contribution to the employee stock ownership association, in which case the shares will be transferred to the representative account of the association and held in mandatory trust for four years.

Hyundai Motor stated that the planned disposal volume of bonus shares amounts to only 0.2% of the total issued common shares, so the dilution effect on share value will be limited. Meanwhile, as of October 29, prior to the disposal, Hyundai Motor held 1,047,534 treasury shares in common stock, representing a holding ratio of 0.5%.
