On October 30, the last trading day of October ahead of the weekend, nuclear power-related stocks in the domestic market closed the week uniformly weak. Major names including Doosan Enerbility and KEPCO E&C, along with Woori Technology, Woojin, and Orbitech, fell one after another, drawing attention to the direction of trading on the first trading day of November.

■ Large-Cap Nuclear Stocks Close Sharply Lower on KOSPI

According to the Korea Exchange on October 30, Doosan Enerbility (034020) finished trading at 53,700 won, down 5.29% from the previous session. Continuing its weakness from the prior day, the stock settled in the 53,000-won range.

KEPCO E&C (052690) also closed at 84,600 won, down 4.62%, while KEPCO KPS (051600) finished at 40,750 won, down 1.92%.

■ Mid- and Small-Cap Nuclear Stocks Post Notable Declines

Mid- and small-cap stocks also fell sharply. Woori Technology (032820) closed at 8,660 won, down 5.35% from the previous session, and Woojin (105840) ended at 9,530 won, down 5.36%, slipping below the 10,000-won level. Orbitech (046120) closed down 5.09% at 3,355 won, and Mobis (250060) finished at 2,595 won, down 2.62%.

In contrast, Korea Electric Power Corporation (015760) closed unchanged at 28,300 won, and Kumhwap&S (036190) also ended flat at 30,200 won. Soosan InTec (126720) fell 0.78% to 18,960 won.

■ KOSPI Down 3.48%... Selling Pressure Spreads Across the Market

The weakness in nuclear stocks coincided with a broad decline in the domestic market. The KOSPI index closed at 5,730.74, down 206.92 points (-3.48%) from the previous session, while the KOSDAQ index finished at 724.38, down 28.85 points (-3.83%). Amid market-wide selling pressure, nuclear power-related stocks were unable to escape downward pressure. ■ Key Points to Watch in November

Investors' attention is now turning to November. The key question is whether nuclear power-related stocks will attempt a rebound despite their weakness on the final trading day of October, or whether the correction will continue. Future developments in follow-up negotiations on the Czech nuclear project and cooperation moves in overseas nuclear markets, including the United States, are also cited as major points of interest.
