Wavve's original drama 'Next to Me, Francesca' will be released exclusively on Wavve on November 6 at 11 a.m.

'Next to Me, Francesca' is a fantasy teen drama set in a high school, depicting a tension-filled romance between a vampire and a human. It is a spin-off that expands the world of the sitcom 'Hi, Francesca,' which returned after 20 years.

The plot centers on the story of Pina-young (Han Su-ah), a vampire who transfers from Romania and adapts to life at Duil High School in Korea. Pina-young forms a love triangle with Jang Woo-joo (Kim Hyun-jin), who aims to get into medical school, and Yoo-hyeol (Lee Seung-gyu), another vampire hiding at the school.

In episodes 1 and 2, Pina-young comes into conflict with a group of tough female students as she adjusts to school life. She also shows a lack of social awareness, cutting in line at the cafeteria and taking snacks from the school store without permission. Jang Woo-joo is taken aback by Pina-young's behavior, but at the request of her homeroom teacher (Jung Seung-je), he helps her by becoming her tutor, and the two gradually grow closer.

Pina-young is told by her butler (Yoo Young-woo) to keep her vampire identity hidden, but the secret is eventually revealed to Jang Woo-joo, and the two begin sharing everyday life together. Yoo-hyeol recognizes that Pina-young is a fellow vampire and approaches her. He tempts her with human blood while showing his wariness, saying, "It's better not to get too deeply involved with humans. Especially Jang Woo-joo!"

The connection to the original series also draws attention. In the first scene of Part 1, Park Hee-jin, who played Aesung-daek in 'Hi, Francesca,' makes a special appearance, demonstrating the link to the original. In a scene where a coffin is carried in with the moving boxes, she adds immersion to the scene with the line, "Excuse me ~ what is this?"

On the same day, Wavve will also release a 4K upscaled version of 'Hi, Francesca,' making it possible to enjoy both the original and the spin-off in one place.
