The Samsung Lions showed their determination to win Korean Series Game 5 by bringing in Chris Pedenck as their decisive move.

In Korean Series Game 5 held on the 8th at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, Samsung sent Pedenck to the mound in the top of the fifth inning. Pedenck retired three batters in succession on routine outs, blocking the KT Wiz's comeback attempt, and Samsung maintained a 10-run lead, continuing its momentum toward the championship.

The first out Pedenck recorded came against slugger Sam Hilliard, on a fly ball to shortstop. He then got Kim Min-hyuk on a groundout to second base and Ryu Hyun-in on a groundout to first base, cleanly closing out the inning.

Mixing fastballs with changeups and cutters, Pedenck retired all three batters within the infield without a single strikeout. KT failed to reach base against Pedenck and could not build a foundation for a counterattack.

With a 3-1 series lead and just one win away from the championship, Samsung made it clear it intended to close out the game by boldly deploying Pedenck despite the wide margin.
