[Breaking News] HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Wins Order for 8 VLGCs Worth 1.4161 Trillion Won from Asian Shipping Company

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced in a regulatory filing on the 1st that it has signed a contract to build eight Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) with an Asia-based shipping company.

■ Order Equivalent to 8.05% of 2025 Consolidated Revenue The total value of this contract is 1.4161 trillion won. This is a major order accounting for 8.05% of the company's 2025 consolidated revenue (17.5806 trillion won).

According to the filing, the contract was signed on May 30, 2025, and the actual contract period runs from the date of signing to June 30, 2030.

■ Payment Terms and Exchange Rate Basis The Asian shipping company, which is the counterparty to the contract, will pay a deposit and advance payment first, with the balance to be paid according to the future progress of the construction. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries stated that when calculating the contract amount, it applied the initial announced exchange rate of 1,505.80 won per US dollar from the business day immediately preceding the contract date.
