LG Electronics has joined hands with the global OTT (Over-The-Top) company Netflix to introduce a new concept subscription product that combines TV hardware and content.
LG Electronics partnered with Netflix to launch the 'LG Netflix Pack,' which integrates its own TV subscription service with Netflix's OTT platform. This product is designed to allow customers to simultaneously enjoy entertainment content and hardware at a more reasonable price than subscribing to each service separately.
The LG Netflix Pack is applicable to all LG TV subscription models, including OLED TVs that allow users to enjoy high-quality 4K UHD Netflix content. The monthly subscription fee is set differently depending on the selected TV model, subscription period (3 to 6 years), and Netflix plan (Standard or Premium).
Sign-ups will begin on June 1st at 459 LG Electronics Best Shop stores and department stores nationwide. The sales channels are expected to expand sequentially to the LG Electronics official online mall and offline electronics retailers.
Notably, for the month of June, a launch promotion will be applied to four large-screen models—83-inch and 77-inch OLED TVs, and 86-inch and 75-inch MRGB TVs—offering them at a lower price than the standalone TV subscription fee. Additionally, an extra discount benefit will be provided for the first six months upon subscribing to the LG Netflix Pack. If an existing Netflix member subscribes to the LG Netflix Pack, the Netflix fee will be integrated into the monthly LG Electronics appliance subscription fee starting the following month, billed and paid at once.
To expand subscriptions for the LG Netflix Pack, LG Electronics conducted sales training for Best Shop sales managers nationwide. It is also strengthening communication with customers through a launch campaign titled, 'The new way to watch Netflix is all LG?' Detailed product information is available at each Best Shop store.
Oh Seung-jin, Managing Director and Head of Korean MS Marketing at LG Electronics, stated, "It is meaningful to introduce a combined product that allows customers to more easily create a premium living room theater in partnership with a world-class entertainment platform." He added, "By presenting a previously unseen combination of devices and content, we expect to open up new possibilities in the subscription market."
