The film 'Salmonji' firmly defended its top spot for the second consecutive month at the May Netizen Awards Film Grand Prize in the Acting category.

Having claimed the throne in April, 'Salmonji' recorded an overwhelming approval rate nearing a majority again this month. 'Salmonji' is the first horror film to achieve consecutive No. 1 rankings at the Netizen Awards.

According to the May voting results, 'Salmonji' secured first place with a total of 20,008 votes, accounting for a 49.3% share. It previously proved its box office prowess in theaters by attracting a cumulative audience of 3.23 million. In particular, coupled with the monumental record set by lead actress Kim Hye-yoon, who won the May Best Actress award for 12 consecutive months, it proved that the fandom's enthusiasm for the work had reached its peak.

■ Upper Rank Competition... 'Salmonji' and '20th Century Girl' Split Over 90% of Votes

A fierce pursuit unfolded to reclaim second place in the highest ranks. '20th Century Girl', which announced a spectacular resurgence last month, firmly defended its runner-up position with 17,428 votes (40.9%). The two works, 'Salmonji' and '20th Century Girl', evenly split over 90% of the total votes.

Following them, 'The Childe' secured 1,990 votes (4.7%), consistently defending its 3rd place spot and firmly holding its ground as a pillar of the top-tier lineup.

■ Mid-Rank Close Contest... Swaps in 4th and 5th Places

In the mid-rank section, fierce competition and slight ranking reversals continued. 'There's No Other Way', which unfortunately remained in 5th place last month by a margin of just 21 votes, showcased its resilience this time by climbing one step up to 4th place with 1,172 votes (2.8%). On the other hand, '30 Days', which placed 4th in the previous vote, saw a slight slump in its fans' voting turnout, recording 430 votes (1.0%) and dropping one spot to 5th place.

■ Lower Rank Competition

Even at the bottom of the rankings, the fans' support for the works translated into the final results. While 'The Man Living with the King' secured 6th place with 192 votes (0.5%), 'Zombie Daughter' ranked 7th, moving up one spot with 174 votes (0.4%). Close behind, 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' took 8th place with 168 votes (0.4%).

Finally, the tied bottom ranks, 'Film Grand Prize' and 'Jjanggu', each secured 8 final votes, wrapping up the May Film Grand Prize race.

With 'Salmonji' maintaining its stable defense of the throne for two consecutive months and the solid pursuit structure of '20th Century Girl' becoming established, attention is now focused on whether this powerful two-horse race will continue in the June voting.
