Boeun-gun, Chungbuk, located at the foot of Mt. Songnisan, is a travel destination boasting outstanding natural scenery and deep history. The harmonious landscape of mountains and water leaves a profound impression on visitors, with various attractions offering a glimpse into traditional culture and history scattered throughout the area. We have summarized the four core courses for a trip to Boeun.

The Boeun-gun Agricultural Culture Center was established to provide a comprehensive view of the history of traditional agricultural culture, which is gradually disappearing. As a space that modernly reinterprets the history and traditional culture of Boeun, visitors can view and experience agricultural tools from the farming era and iron-crafted accessories. In particular, there is a blacksmith experience program that is hard to come by, making it a great opportunity to personally experience traditional skills and create lasting memories.

Boeun Pungnimgyeongsa, a historical site from the Joseon Dynasty, houses valuable artifacts such as hanging wooden plaques, horizontal boards, and wooden movable type. Behind the building is the Huseongyeongdang, established in 1906, which enshrines the portrait of Bak Mun-ho alongside the portraits of Zhu Xi, Yi I, Song Si-yeol, and Han Won-jin, holding exceptional historical value. Outside, there is a giant ginkgo tree that is approximately 150 years old, offering different charms across the four seasons.

Boeun Udang Old House is a traditional Korean house designated as Important Folklore Material in 1984. It is situated on an auspicious site shaped like a lotus floating on water, created by the Samgacheon stream flowing down from Mt. Songnisan, and boasts a scale of 99 rooms. The three spaces comprising the main quarters, the men's quarters, and the ancestral shrine demonstrate a harmonious aesthetic. It also holds significant academic value as it attempted to complete a new style of hanok (traditional Korean house) against the backdrop of the modernization period.

The pine tree in Seowon-ri, Boeun, is an ancient tree that is approximately 600 years old, forming a spectacular view as it stretches out alongside Seowon-ri and the Samgacheon stream. Local residents hold an annual ritual at this pine tree to pray for the peace of the village. Designated and protected as a Natural Monument, this pine tree fully preserves the traces of its long history with its majestic appearance spreading out in the shape of an umbrella.
