HMM announced on the 26th that it has signed a long-term charter contract worth 311,836,421,430 won with Mercuria Shipping Pte. Ltd., a shipping subsidiary of the Mercuria Group.

The contract amount accounts for 2.86% of HMM's consolidated revenue for 2025 (10,891,442,880,000 won). The contract period runs from July 1, 2029 to December 31, 2036, during which two vessels will be operated under long-term charters in the Americas, the Middle East, Asia, and other regions.

Charter payments will be made monthly following vessel delivery, with no separate deposit or advance payment. HML explained that the contract amount was calculated using the initially announced exchange rate as of the business day prior to the contract signing (1 dollar = 1,538.30 won). It also added that the contract amount may fluctuate depending on future vessel operating days and changes in vessel specifications.

Meanwhile, the counterparty holds an option to extend the contract by one to three years, meaning the overall contract period and amount may vary depending on whether the option is exercised.
