Hanwha Solutions (009830) surged more than 12% during trading on the 29th, triggering the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism. This resulted from strong inflows of buying interest even as the broader KOSPI exhibited weakness.

A static VI for Hanwha Solutions was triggered at 1:16:48 p.m. on this day and was lifted at 1:19:01 p.m. As of 1:18 p.m., Hanwha Solutions was trading at 34,450 won, up 3,800 won (12.40%) from the previous trading day, reclaiming the 34,000-won level and expanding its gains.

The Volatility Interruption (VI) is a system that applies single-price trading for a certain period to protect investors and stabilize the market when an individual stock's price surges or plunges within a short timeframe.

At the same time, the domestic stock market showed mixed movements. The KOSPI stood at 2,828.57, down 130.64 points (1.55%) from the previous trading day, continuing its weak trend.

The market is closely watching whether Hanwha Solutions' strength will persist into the afternoon session. Attention is also focused on whether changes in supply and demand will lead to further buying interest spreading broadly across the energy and eco-friendly sectors.
