During trading on the 29th, a Volatility Interruption (VI) was triggered for POSCO DX (022100), causing its share price to surge significantly.
A static VI was triggered for POSCO DX from 12:52:04 PM to 12:54:10 PM on the same day. As strong buying pressure flowed in, POSCO DX was trading at 22,200 won as of 12:57 PM, up 2,000 won (9.90%) from the previous trading day, surging over 9% in an instant.
VI (Volatility Interruption) is a system that switches to single-price trading for a certain period of time to calm overheated trading by investors when stock prices fluctuate rapidly within a specified timeframe.
At the same time, the domestic stock market showed mixed trends with the two main indices moving in opposite directions. While the KOSPI fell by 109.15 points (1.29%) from the previous trading day to 8,302.06, the KOSDAQ maintained its strong upward trend, rising 60.83 points (7.14%) to 912.20.
Market participants are keeping a close eye on whether POSCO DX's strength will continue until the afternoon session close, and what impact it will have on the future volatility of the domestic stock market.
