Geumyang has delayed the construction schedule for its new secondary battery plant within the Dongbusan E-PARK Industrial Complex by seven months from the original plan. The investment period end date was revised to the end of January 2027.

According to Geumyang's regulatory filing on the 30th, the end date for the new facility investment period was changed from the previous June 30, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The reason for the revision is "delay in factory completion." With this measure, only the investment period end date was changed, while key investment conditions such as the investment amount remain unchanged.

The total investment amount is 610 billion KRW (610,000,000,000 KRW). This represents 500.26% of the company's equity capital (121,936,315,678 KRW) based on the consolidated financial statements as of the end of 2022. The total investment period was adjusted to run from September 11, 2023, to January 31, 2027.

The investment target is a secondary battery plant currently under construction on the A1 block of the Dongbusan E-PARK Industrial Complex in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan. The factory, with a total floor area of 124,479 square meters, plans to mass-produce 4695 and 21700 cylindrical batteries, thereby significantly expanding secondary battery sales.

The company explained that the investment amount represents the construction budget limit (excluding value-added tax) approved by the board of directors, and the actual executed amount may vary depending on future contracts and construction progress. It added that both the groundbreaking and scheduled completion dates may also change depending on the actual construction process.
