The 'July Netizen Awards,' officially opening on July 1, promises yet another fierce voting race accompanied by a massive influx of new candidates. As fresh faces continuously enter their names across categories, attention is focused on how the competitive landscape against established heavyweights will be reshuffled.
The most notable change is in the Male Singer Award. Min Soo-hyun, who proved his unrivaled competitiveness by taking first place in the Neostar Award for two consecutive months in May and June, now shifts his stage to the Male Singer Award. Whether the fandom enthusiasm and voting momentum built up in the Neostar Award can carry over to the main stage is highlighted as the key point to watch in July.
A new trend is also beginning in the Female Singer Award. Lee So-na and Hong Sung-yoon, who have steadily built their presence in the Neostar Award, have both joined the Female Singer Award. Having demonstrated stable vote-getting power and expanded their fan bases in the rookie category, how they will compete in the main division is drawing keen attention.
The addition of Lissance and Cortis to the Best Group Award is expected to bring changes to the group category landscape. Meanwhile, Seong Ri, Jang Han-byul, and Hwan-hee have been registered as candidates in the newly relaunched Neostar Award. As Min Soo-hyun, Lee So-na, and Hong Sung-yoon, who previously competed in the Neostar Award, move to other categories, an entirely new competition is expected to take shape in the rookie division.
A fresh wind has also blown through the acting categories. Kim Moo-yeol has entered his name in the Male Acting Award, while Park Ji-hyun and Jin Ki-ju are newly listed in the Female Acting Award. For the Film Grand Award, 'Shadow Eye' and 'Pupil' have been included among the candidates, and for the Drama Grand Award, Netflix's 'School Rules' has joined the field. For the Current Affairs/Culture Grand Award, SBS's 'Mountain Bachelor Hero' has been added, and for the Broadcasting Grand Award, Kim Jong-kook has been newly registered. In the Celebrity Grand Award, Hot Issue J has joined; in the Fan Book Grand Award, Gu Chang-mo; and in the Net Grand Prix, Gian84, each broadening the range of choices.
The July Netizen Awards is expected to deliver a more diverse voting landscape than ever before across all categories, as the solid competitiveness of established powerhouses intertwines with the fresh surges of new candidates.
