In the June Netizen Awards Hall of Fame 'Immortal Leaders' category vote, Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chul defended the top spot for the fifth consecutive month, continuing his record-breaking run.

Lee secured a total of 633 votes, maintaining first place with a 41.3% share. After first reaching the summit in February, he has now won for five straight months, while also raising his support rate by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, proving himself the symbolic frontrunner in this category.

At the top of the rankings, the solid two-horse race between the two titans who laid the foundation of the Korean economy continued. Hyundai Group honorary chairman Chung Ju-yung held onto second place with 518 votes and a 33.8% share. Chung also boosted his support by 1.9 percentage points from the previous month, closing the gap on the leader, and together with Lee Byung-chul, the two commanded 75.1% of the total vote.

Yu Han-yang-hang founder Yoo Il-han settled into third place with 229 votes and a 14.9% share.

There were ranking changes in the middle tier. POSCO honorary chairman Park Tae-joon defended fourth place with 94 votes and a 6.1% share, while Lotte Group founder Shin Kyuk-ho rose to fifth with 47 votes and a 3.1% share.

Competition in the lower tier was also fierce. LG Group former chairman Koo Bon-moo, who had been in the lower tier in May, moved up one notch to sixth place with 4 votes and a 0.3% share. Meanwhile, Hanwha Group founder Kim Jong-hee, who ranked sixth last month, slipped one spot to seventh with 3 votes and a 0.2% share. At the very bottom of the rankings, Doosan Group founding chairman Park Too-bin, Hanjin Group founder Cho Choong-hoon, and SK Group former chairman Choi Jong-hyun each garnered 2 votes, all recording an identical 0.1% share.

Meanwhile, attention is focused on whether the fandom's voting enthusiasm for the heavyweight business leaders who have shaped the economic history of South Korea will continue in the July race.
