In Season 2, the Black Queens will hold a tryout to recruit new players. A total of 308 applicants applied across 47 events, but only 18 who passed the preliminary test were able to participate on-site.
During the tryout, a number of applicants with skills surpassing those of Season 1 appeared, surprising the original Black Queens members. In particular, one applicant shared that she was the only female player on a Little League team as a child, but switched to a different sport during high school because she had no team to join. She then expressed her determination to practice at any position the Black Queens needed.
Once the actual test began, this applicant showcased accurate yet powerful throws during catch ball and defense, making the infield trio of Joo Soo-jin, Ayaka, and Kim Sung-yeon nervous. In outfield defense, she drew attention with no-bounce throws, and the on-site members expressed admiration that went beyond simple competition.
In the ensuing batting test, coach Yoon Seok-min took the mound himself. The applicant made precise contact from her first swing, and on her second at-bat, she recorded a home-run-caliber hit that surprised everyone. Coach Lee Dae-hyung, watching the applicant's performance, evaluated, "Song Ah is out of sight. The era of Song Ah is now over!"
She also stood out in the pitching test. With precise control, she even drew applause from ace pitcher Jang Soo-young, and Song Ah, a .600 hitter who stepped up as the opposing batter, was struck out, personally experiencing her skill. Manager Choo Shin-soo also expressed strong interest, saying, "Why did you only show up now!"
The Black Queens plan to further strengthen their roster through this tryout as they head into an even more fiercely competitive Season 2.
