A Volatility Interruption (VI) was triggered as Witch Factory (439090) surged in early trading.

According to the Korea Exchange, a static VI for Witch Factory was triggered at 9:00:13 a.m. on the 8th and was lifted at 9:02:14 a.m. As of 9:11 a.m., Witch Factory is trading at 16,700 won, up 1,840 won (12.38%) from the previous trading day.

At the same time, the broader stock market is generally weak. The KOSPI fell to 7,423.83, down 232.48 points (3.03%) from the previous day, while the KOSDAQ dropped to 808.35, down 22.88 points (2.75%).

Despite the overall market decline, Witch Factory recorded double-digit gains. As buying interest flowed in rapidly during early trading, the VI was triggered, and investors are closely watching the additional supply and demand trends following the VI lift.

Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command announced via X (formerly Twitter) that the U.S. military had launched airstrikes against Iran. Attention is now focused on the future direction of the domestic stock market.
