HS Hyosung Advanced Materials is making an additional investment of KRW 34.4 billion in its Belgian subsidiary to solidify its European secondary battery materials business. This is part of a previously committed large-scale investment plan, with additional funding disbursements scheduled for the future.

According to HS Hyosung Advanced Materials on the 9th, its subsidiary 'HS Hyosung Energy Solution BV' is conducting a shareholder-allocated rights offering by issuing 60 million shares of common stock. The issue price per share is KRW 575, raising a total of KRW 34.48 billion. The funds will be used entirely as operating capital, with the payment scheduled for July 24, 2026.

Accordingly, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials decided on the same day through a separate regulatory filing to acquire 60 million new shares in cash. The acquisition amount of KRW 34.48 billion represents 4.17% of the company's equity. Upon completion of this acquisition, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials will hold a total of 240 million shares, bringing its stake to 72.73%.

The company stated that the purpose of this investment is the 'payment of investment funds in response to a Cash Call.' The investment amount is equivalent to EUR 20 million converted at the exchange rate as of July 9 (1 euro = KRW 1,724).

This capital increase represents a partial execution of the previously committed total investment of EUR 60 million. A Cash Call balance of EUR 40 million remains, indicating that additional rights offerings will follow.

'HS Hyosung Energy Solution BV,' the recipient of the investment, is a Belgian-based subsidiary exclusively responsible for the research, manufacturing, and sales of secondary battery materials and battery-related products. The company changed its name from 'Extra Mile Materials BV' to its current name on June 19, strengthening its European battery business foundation.
