KBS 2TV's weekend miniseries 'Perfume of Love' recorded a peak viewership rating of 7.2% per minute in its second episode, setting a new personal best.

The key driver of the show's tension is Kim Da-myung's portrayal of a dual-natured villain. In the second episode, Kim Da-myung's character, Noh Man-hee, delivered a shock by kidnapping Go Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol), the wife of Kang Tae-ju (played by Namgoong Min). Noh Man-hee was briefly excited by the 3 billion won offered by Kang Tae-ju's mother-in-law, but soon erupted in anger, choking the captive Go Se-yoon. He threatened, "Your wife is dying because Chairman Kang didn't keep his promise to me," and submitted Kang Tae-ju's video footage to the police station, maximizing the tension.

'Perfume of Love' ranked first in the global OTT platform Disney+'s 'Today's Top 10 Series in Korea.' It also ranked sixth in the TV-OTT Buzzworthy Drama category and fourth in the TV Buzzworthy Drama category in the Good Data Corporation Fundex Report, proving its popularity.

In episodes 3 and 4, airing on the 11th and 12th, Kim Da-myung is set to showcase a dramatic duality, oscillating between a friendly neighborhood resident and a ruthless kidnapper. Noh Man-hee will simultaneously display the ordinary image of cheerfully fixing a neighborhood grandmother's computer and the villainous side of threatening and surveilling Go Se-yoon with a chilling gaze. A scene where he transforms into a masked kidnapper has also been teased.

The production team stated, "With his signature vocal tone and warm expressions, Kim Da-myung is chillingly embodying the villain Noh Man-hee, whose ordinariness itself delivers the greatest shock." They added, "Please pay attention to his psychological thriller acting, which will reveal twists hidden behind a kind smile." They continued, "In episodes 3 and 4, Noh Man-hee's chilling true colors as a villain will be fully revealed, leading to a tension-filled development. Please also look forward to the intense chase scene between Kim Da-myung and Namgoong Min."

Meanwhile, 'Perfume of Love' is a crime thriller about a man who confronts a criminal to save his kidnapped wife just before their divorce. It was produced with the support of the Broadcasting Communication Development Fund. Episode 3 will air on the 11th at 9:20 PM.
