[Breaking] Alteogen Plunges 12% Below 300,000 Won, Leading KOSDAQ Decline
CBC News

Alteogen (196170), the KOSDAQ's largest company by market capitalization, fell sharply in early trading on the 14th, slipping below the 300,000 won mark.

As of 9:10 a.m. on the 14th, Alteogen's stock was trading at 277,500 won, down 39,000 won (12.32%) from the previous trading day. As soon as the market opened, the decline widened, causing the 300,000 won level—considered a psychological support line for investors—to give way without resistance. Previously, on the 13th, the stock had already posted an expanded decline during after-hours trading (NXT).

This trend coincides with a significant contraction in investor sentiment across the domestic stock market recently. As clashes between the United States and Iran continue, geopolitical risks in the Middle East are being highlighted once again, leading to a growing preference for avoiding risk assets. As a result, the domestic stock market has also shown weakness from early trading.

In particular, while selling pressure has been concentrated in some of KOSDAQ's top market-cap stocks, Alteogen's decline has been especially pronounced, driving the index lower.

Going forward, market attention is focused on whether Alteogen can recover the 300,000 won level. With volatility expanding significantly from the start of trading, changes in supply and demand from foreign and institutional investors, as well as the overall trend of the KOSDAQ index, are expected to determine the short-term direction of the stock.
