Financial markets, including the domestic stock market, will take a day off on July 17 in observance of Constitution Day. Following the government's redesignation of Constitution Day as an official public holiday, financial markets such as the stock market and the derivatives market will all be closed. Constitution Day was removed from the list of public holidays in 2008 and has been redesignated as a public holiday after 18 years.

According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), stock markets including KOSPI, KOSDAQ, and KONEX, as well as the Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) market, will all be closed on July 17. In addition to the stock market, trading in the derivatives market, including KOSPI 200 futures and options, and the general commodities market, including gold, oil, and emission rights, will also be suspended. In line with the closure of the regular exchange, the alternative exchange Nextrade (NXT) will also suspend operations on that day.

With the market closed for a day, stock trade settlement dates will be pushed back accordingly. Since the domestic stock market adopts a trading day-plus-two (T+2) settlement system based on business days, the holiday on the 17th will be excluded from the calculation of settlement dates.

Meanwhile, trading will resume on Monday, the 20th.
