KBS 2TV's new daily drama 'Trap of Desire' will premiere on August 10 at 7:50 PM. Scheduled as the follow-up to 'Red Pearl,' the series depicts the story of a woman whose life is turned upside down after being falsely accused of murder, as she struggles to reclaim her destiny against enormous desires.

The series is directed by Lee Dae-kyung and Jung Kwang-soo, with the screenplay written by writer Koo Ji-won. The production was a joint effort by Studio Bom and Monster Union, elevating the overall quality of the work.

Character stills of the two central figures of Cheongma Group, Cha Seok-jin and Kang Hae-ra, have been released, drawing anticipation.

First, Cha Seok-jin, played by Seol Jung-hwan, is a key talent at Cheongma Group. A cold and ambitious individual who overcame a difficult upbringing on his own, he stands at a crossroads of unexpected, fateful choices between Go Eun-seol and Kang Hae-ra. In the revealed stills, he displays a gentle smile and calm gaze, but as time passes, he exudes an intense charisma, hinting at a multi-dimensional appeal.

Joo Sae-byuk takes on the role of Kang Hae-ra, the sole heiress of Cheongma Group. She is a complex character who simultaneously possesses glamour, a strong possessiveness, and an inner sense of emptiness. In the drama, Kang Hae-ra is situated at the center of a false paradise created by Joo Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee). With her flashy style, confident expressions, and obsessive, piercing gaze, she displays the powerful presence of an heiress. The stark contrast between these two characters maximizes the tension of the series.

In particular, the addition of Jang Seo-hee, known as the 'Queen of Daily Dramas,' is drawing attention. Through 'Trap of Desire,' Jang Seo-hee returns to KBS for the first time in 12 years. Having previously transformed the landscape of daily dramas with hits such as 'Mermaid Lady' and 'Temptation of a Wife,' her new performance is already a hot topic.

The production team stated, "Cha Seok-jin and Kang Hae-ra are characters with different desires and values, serving as central pillars that form a tense relationship in the development of the plot." They added, "Actors Seol Jung-hwan and Joo Sae-byuk are delicately portraying the passage of time from the past 10 years ago to the present through their acting, significantly enhancing the immersion of the work."
