Singer Seongri appeared on 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 4' and candidly shared his tearful stories and family history from his days as an unknown artist.

In the third episode of MBN and Channel S's variety program 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 4,' which aired recently, key cast members of 'Unknown Legend: Trot Men's Ranking War' — including Seongri, Haru, and Jang Han-byul — competed in a gourmet food battle and shared stories about their lives.

That day's filming initially fell through at the planned monkfish soup restaurant, and they were also turned away at the second stop, a stir-fried octopus restaurant. However, after Seongri put on a special live performance for the restaurant owner, they finally secured permission to film and continued their meal while looking around at the fresh octopus tanks.

During the subsequent meal, Seongri named Na Hoon-a as the senior singer he respects most and passionately sang his song 'Forever,' heating up the atmosphere on set.

In particular, during a conversation at a 'dachi' (informal drinking establishment) in Tongyeong, Seongri's hidden story was revealed in response to Jeon Hyun-moo's questions about his family history, drawing viewers' attention. Seongri confessed that his parents divorced when he was young, his father passed away after battling cancer when Seongri was 19, and he subsequently lived with his mother and older brother.

As an unknown singer, Seongri received spending money from his mother until his late twenties. He revealed that after failing five auditions, he felt a deep sense of guilt toward her. Having initially planned to find a stable job after completing his military service, he shared the backstory of how he decided to take on the challenge after seeing the casting notice for 'Unknown Legend.'

Seongri stirred deep emotion as he shared his heartfelt thoughts: "Given my circumstances, I really shouldn't have done it, and part of me wanted to run away. But instinctively, I felt that if I didn't take on this challenge now, I would regret it and beat myself up over it for the rest of my life. I am truly grateful that you appreciated the stage on which I staked everything."
