In episode 5 of Lifetime's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Empathy Cell,' a scene was depicted where Kang Min-ah and Kim Myung-soo share a kiss to resolve the 'emotion transfer' malfunction.

Early in the drama, Cha Eun-hwan (Kim Myung-soo) stepped in to help the comeback of Yoo Ji-an (Kang Min-ah), who had left her previous drama. On the condition of keeping it a secret from Cha Song-hwan (Cha Min-ji), he signed a three-month manager contract with Yoo Ji-an and supported her from his side. After successfully attending a meeting with the production team, Yoo Ji-an announced the news of her confirmed casting.

During this time, Yoo Ji-an came face to face with Cha Eun-hwan's past. She learned about the accident in his childhood where his older brother Cha Song-hwan lost a leg and his parents were sacrificed, as well as the deep guilt Cha Eun-hwan carried as a result. With emotions transferred, Yoo Ji-an shed tears and embraced him. She then discovered that making eye contact prevented the emotion transfer from occurring, and startled by her own heartbeat, she kissed Cha Eun-hwan.

The next day, Cha Eun-hwan went to meet Yoo Ji-an but was flustered when he could hear her inner thoughts. At the filming set, the emotion transfer function stopped working entirely, causing a crisis, and Cha Eun-hwan realized he was in a 'reverse transfer' state where the roles of emotion transfer had been swapped.

As public opinion intensified surrounding Yoo Ji-an's return to the drama, she decided to step down. While analyzing a video related to the controversy over Yoo Ji-an's abusive behavior, Cha Eun-hwan discovered an unusually perfect sentence structure that was different from her norm, and asked a detective to find the whistleblower Shin Mi-jung (Park Chae-won). He also asked Director Moon Kyung-sik (Jo Hyun-jae) to give Yoo Ji-an an opportunity to audition for a supporting role. Yoo Ji-an hesitated upon learning that the female lead of the film was Han Yi-jin (Kwon So-hyun), but with Cha Eun-hwan's encouragement, she decided to take on the challenge.

The two sought a solution to the reverse transfer. Cha Eun-hwan realized that the day the emotion transfer began and the day the reverse transfer occurred both shared a common factor: a 'kiss.' When Yoo Ji-an suggested kissing again, the emotion transfer malfunction was resolved.

Episode 6 of 'Empathy Cell' airs on the 19th at 10:50 PM on Lifetime. It will be available on U+tv Mobile and Disney+ at midnight on the 20th.
