On the TV CHOSUN historical culinary variety show 'What Did the King Eat?,' airing Wednesday the 22nd at 10 p.m., the healthy diet of Joseon's longest-reigning monarch, King Yeongjo, will be revealed.

In an era when the average life expectancy was mid-40s, King Yeongjo enjoyed a remarkable lifespan of 83 years. As his longevity dining table is recreated, Ji Ye-eun draws attention by mentioning her boyfriend after tasting the king's table.

In this broadcast, Choi Tae-sung explains that King Yeongjo maintained strict self-discipline and that his dietary habits were an essential element in maintaining his throne. In particular, the royal dish 'Tangpyeongchae,' which originated from the 'Tangpyeongchaek' (Policy of Impartiality) implemented by King Yeongjo to resolve factional conflicts, is served at his table. Tangpyeongchae is a carefully prepared dish made by individually cleaning, seasoning, and stir-frying various vegetables, then mixing them with mung bean jelly.

Shin Giryu, who normally does not like vegetables, also spared no praise for the taste of Tangpyeongchae. Ji Ye-eun, too, marveled at the explosive flavor and asked for a refill. When it was later explained that Tangpyeongchae is a labor-intensive dish, Ji Ye-eun asked whether it is difficult to make. Yang Sang-guk then asked, "Are you planning to make it for your boyfriend?" and Ji Ye-eun affirmed with a shy smile.

Shin Giryu chimed in, saying, "Sometimes there's a person who comes to mind when you see delicious food, so you ask for the recipe," and Ji Ye-eun joked, "Where else would you find a woman like me?" turning the set into a sea of laughter.

Additionally, the king's longevity secrets are revealed in detail, including King Yeongjo's restrained diet and the total 60kg of ginseng he consumed throughout his life. After tasting the longevity table including King Yeongjo's ginseng dishes, Yang Sang-guk showed a strong reaction, saying, "I feel a surge of energy. I want to do something," further heightening curiosity.
