In early trading on the 22nd, Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) is drawing intense market attention with a surge of more than 10%.

As of 9:20 a.m. today, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is trading at 1,466,000 won, up 156,000 won (11.91%) from the previous trading day. Strong buying pressure has poured in right after the market open, quickly pushing the stock price into the mid-1,400,000 won range.

A strong upward momentum is also at work across the broader domestic stock market. At the same time, the KOSPI surged more than 5%, easily breaching the 7,100 level, while the KOSDAQ also rose over 4%, reflecting an expanding preference for risk assets.

In particular, the KOSPI market witnessed a powerful rally, with a 'buy-side sidecar' — a mechanism that temporarily restricts program buy orders in the event of a sharp index surge — being triggered. The improvement in investor sentiment has been so rapid that it warranted the activation of the sidecar.

This trend is interpreted as the direct spillover of overnight gains in the U.S. stock market, which closed higher driven by the strength of semiconductor stocks. Following the revival of investor sentiment centered around U.S. tech stocks, buying interest is spreading to semiconductor and IT-related stocks in the domestic market as well. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is also benefiting from this improved sentiment, posting a double-digit gain in early trading.

However, given that it is still early in the session, whether profit-taking sell-offs will emerge following the sharp short-term rise and whether this upward trend can be sustained through the afternoon session have emerged as key focal points for the market going forward.
