Shuhwa, a member of the group (G)I-DLE, is set to take the stage at a world-renowned film festival with her screen debut and first leading role.

The film 'Happy, Happy Days,' starring Shuhwa, has been officially invited to the Special Presentations section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival. The Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival — the largest film festival in North America — is a core program that introduces new works by globally acclaimed directors and actors. In the past, acclaimed Korean films such as director Bong Joon-ho's 'Mother' and 'Parasite,' and director Park Chan-wook's 'The Handmaiden' have been invited to this section, adding to its significance.

Stepping onto the international stage with her very first work, Shuhwa shared her thoughts through her agency. She said, "When I heard the news, I couldn't believe it. It is an honor to be able to step onto the international stage with a great team starting from my very first work," and added, "I hope that everyone who watches the film will find empathy and comfort through the story of the character Lin Ziqi, and feel the sincerity contained in the work."

The film 'Happy, Happy Days' depicts the disruption of a peaceful daily life when a stray cat appears before two sisters with completely different personalities. Director Feng-I Fiona Roan, who swept awards including Best New Director, the International Critics' Award, and the Audience Award at the Golden Horse Film Festival for her feature film 'American Girl,' helms the project, drawing high anticipation.

In the film, Shuhwa plays the role of Lin Ziqi, the youngest daughter with a bright and innocent personality. Lin Ziqi is a character who grows by experiencing a range of emotions within her relationship with her sister after encountering a stray cat. Through this work, Shuhwa has successfully expanded her scope of activities from singer to actress.

Meanwhile, Shuhwa's group (G)I-DLE is continuing their global endeavors. Following their appearance at the major music festival 'Lollapalooza' held in Chicago, USA, they are scheduled to wrap up their upcoming schedule with a world tour performance at the Galaxy Arena in Macao.
