The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), Asia's largest comedy festival, has officially launched its volunteer squad 'Cobongs' and entered full-scale preparations for a successful event.

At the launch ceremony held on the 24th, Executive Chairman Kim Jun-ho and 35 volunteers attended and pledged to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the festival. In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Kim expressed his gratitude for the volunteers' dedication, emphasizing, "The true main characters of 'BICF' are you, and your efforts complete the festival." He added, "I want to give the biggest round of applause to 'Cobongs,'" encouraging the participants.

During the event, two representatives of the volunteer squad took the oath, and Chairman Kim personally handed out 'BICF' merchandise to show his enthusiastic support for their activities. Lee Jong-soo, CEO of the sponsor Muhak (Joeunday), also delivered a message of encouragement to share in the spirit of the occasion, and the volunteers strengthened their bonds with a group photo. In the second part of the event, an in-depth safety management training session was conducted, covering performance and event guidance, duty familiarization, and emergency first aid, completing their practical preparations.

The organizing committee, which has been expanding opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture and leading the spread of comedy culture for 14 years, plans to continue its efforts to build a sustainable comedy platform that organically integrates performances, creation, and education. It also intends to focus on discovering new comedians and professional talent, as well as revitalizing the planning, production, and distribution of comedy content.

Meanwhile, the 14th BICF will be held across Busan from August 21 to 30. Starting with the opening performance, 'Malja Show & Gag Concert Gala Show,' comedians from home and abroad will present a variety of stages.
