Doosan Enerbility (034020) closed slightly lower in the regular session on the 27th, defending the 70,000-won level. With the broader domestic stock market showing strength on the same day, coupled with news of improved second-quarter earnings, investors' attention is focused on the future direction of the stock price.

The closing price was 70,900 won, down 1,200 won (1.66%) from the previous trading day. Despite intraday fluctuations, the stock ultimately held the 70,000-won level.

Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ closed higher on the same day, signaling a recovery in investor sentiment. Expectations of easing tensions between the United States and Iran led to a sharp decline in international oil prices, which is interpreted as having alleviated some of the burden across the broader market.

In the afternoon, second-quarter earnings were also released. Through its provisional consolidated earnings disclosure, Doosan Enerbility reported revenue of 4.7248 trillion won and operating profit of 314.3 billion won for the second quarter of this year. These figures represent a 3% increase in revenue and a 16% increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year.

In the market, growing expectations for expanded global power infrastructure investment are also cited as a factor that could influence medium- to long-term investor sentiment. Investors are closely watching what impact this earnings improvement will have on the stock price. Whether the stock can sustain its rebound on the back of strong earnings, along with its ability to hold the 70,000-won support level, will be key short-term points to watch.
