Doosan FuelCell (336260) plunged in early trading on the 28th, triggering a Volatility Control Device (VI).

According to the Korea Exchange, a static VI for Doosan FuelCell was triggered at 9:18:10 a.m. on this day. As of 9:19 a.m., the stock is trading at 26,950 won, down 3,050 won (10.17%) from the previous trading day. The domestic stock market is also continuing its downward trend. At the same time, the KOSPI is at 6,290.24, down 465.51 points (6.89%) from the previous trading day, while the KOSDAQ is at 730.65, down 34.21 points (4.47%). Investor sentiment has contracted significantly. Overnight, the U.S. New York stock market closed mixed as profit-taking sell-offs emerged, centered on semiconductor stocks. With weakness persisting across tech stocks broadly, investors are closely watching major corporate earnings and the direction of the global economy. In the domestic stock market as well, selling pressure is spreading across large-cap stocks, including semiconductors, due to the fallout from weakness in U.S. tech stocks. As risk appetite contracts, volatility is expanding, particularly in growth stocks and highly valued names. The market views that energy-related stocks, including Doosan FuelCell, are highly sensitive to short-term changes in investor sentiment, and therefore the future direction of supply and demand and whether overall market sentiment recovers will be key variables determining the stock price trajectory.
